Hair scrunchies are back! Yes the fashion phenomenon we obsessed about in the 90's is back on trend and we can't stop making them!

The brilliant thing about hair scrunchies is they're the perfect stash buster and ideal for using up all those fat quarters you've saved for the perfect project.

Watch our step-by-step tutorial and learn how to make your own hair scrunchie today!

What you need to make a hair scrunchie

Fabric 110cm x 17cm
Elastic 110cm

Sewing Machine
2 x Safety Pins

Fold the fabric in half lengthways, right sides facing.

Machine stitch down the long open edge, starting and finishing 10cm in from each end. (1cm seam allowance).

Turn right side out.

Pin the short ends together, right sides facing. Machine stitch (1cm seam allowance).

Attach a safety pin to each end of your elastic. Pin one end to somewhere on the fabric, and thread the other end through the fabric tube.

Tie the ends of the elastic together in a secure knot.

Stitch up the gap and you're done! Tie up your awesome pony tail!
